The manuscript appears to have been owned in 1740 by Andrew Veitch, whose name is written on the label affixed to the front cover; and between 1744 and 1747 by Hugh Rose of Kilravock (died 1755) who was responsible for the notes and memoranda on farming and related matters inside both covers and at folios 7 verso-8.
