Scope and Contents

A register in the handwriting of Sir James Balfour, containing the ceremonials used at the funerals of the following persons, apparently under the directions of Balfour as Lord Lyon, (i) James Marquess of Hamilton, 1625; (ii) Lord Buccleuch, 1634; (iii) Earl of Kinnoull, 1635; (iv) Countess of Wigton, 1636; (v) Countess of Nithsdale, 1637.

The description of the manuscript in the folio catalogue (F.R.187) includes the reference: (A.7.33).
