‘Instructions set forth by Sir David Lindsay of the Mount, Knight Lyon King at Arms and his brethrene heralds at speall comand of my Lords Regent and Lords of secret counsall to be observit be ye officiare of armes within this realme in all tymes cumy for dew service to our soverane Lord and his Leidgis at Ed[r], the secund day of Jannuar 1577’. The five first pages are written in the same hand.
