Originally 3 separate fragments, each by a different scribe. Folios 1 and 4, are the outer leaves of a copy of ‘An Tenga Bithnua’. Date and provenance unknown, except perhaps for folio 2 (text: Ulster, 15th century).

Initials and inventory numbers are as follows. Folio 1 recto: ‘No 11’ (pencil, ?hand of Lewis Gordon, Depute Secretary of the Highland Society of Scotland), ‘15’ ‘JMcH’ (James McHardy, cf. Adv.MS.72.1.43), ‘N. 4’ (scored out), ‘10’ (erased). Folio 3 recto: ‘16 JMcH’ (refers to McHardy’s inventory of the manuscripts left by Ewen MacLachlan, in which it is described as ‘A Single Leaf of Vellum Manuscript marked I’. McHardy’s ‘I’ is in fact a scribal N read sideways!), Folio 4 verso: ‘No 11’ (pencil, ?Lewis Gordon’s hand), ‘No. 10’, ‘M. McK’ (the Reverend Mackintosh Mackay, cf. Adv.MS.72.1.41).

The contents are as follows.

(i) ‘An tenga Bithnua’. Beginning and end only. Beginning ‘In principio creavit Deus celum et terram .i. do rinne Dia nemh et talamh’. Folio 1 verso ends “ata colann gach duine ‘na ceithri” = “Une redaction modern du Teanga bithnua”, page 282, §3.5. Folio 4 recto beginning ‘An dechmad la immorro murfaid ⁊ isleochaid an talamh’ = “Une redaction modern du Teanga bithnua”, page 304, §21.18. Folio 4 verso, conclusion illegible. (Folio 1 recto.)

(ii) (Folio reversed.) In praise of Ruaighri and Art, flourished 1400-1422 (FM), sons of Cú Uladh Ruadh, son of Niall Mór Ó Néill. (a) folio 2 verso, (acephalous), poem on Ruaighrí, beginning (acc. to saighin) “Budh ainm ríg Ruaigri O Nell”, 35 quatrains. 1st line of extant text is missing owing to perished corner of leaf. 2 quatrains erased. There is illegible matter on upper and lower margins of folio 2 verso. (b) folio 2 recto, line 25, ‘Cu orrlamh cuilen Chon Uladh’, 7 quatrains. On Art.
