Content Description

The two volumes chronicle Gibb's life from his birth in 1872 to 1945.

It includes an account of growing up in Edinburgh in the 1880s. After leaving school Gibb started work for Raimes, Clark & Co. wholesale druggists and manufacturing chemists of Leith. As a valuator for the company he went round Scotland valuing businesses which were for sale.

In additon to his work life he also describes his holidays, pastimes (including walking, cycling, sailing and golf) and wartime experiences as a civilian.
