Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

The original recordings were captured on magnetic tape: 12 compact cassettes (1 x C60, 4 x C90, 7 x C120) 4.76 cm/s (1 7/8 ips); 21 open reels (17 x 13cm tape reel, 2 x 18cm tape reel), 4.76 cm/s (1 7/8 ips), and 9.5 cm/s (3.75 ips). The masters were digitised under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project. The formats of the digitised copies are JPEG and WAV files.

Custodial History

The tapes were temporarily deposited in the National Library of Scotland to enable digitisation under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project.
