Scope and Contents
Recordings of folk songs and traditional music made between the early and mid 1960s. Many of these are field recordings of folk songs and traditional music made in Ireland, Scotland, England, and some in Canada, by Peter Shepheard.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The original recordings were captured on magnetic tape reels. The 137 masters (52x13cm tape reel; 16x27cm tape reel; 1x15cm tape reel; 3x8cm tape reel; 65x10 cm tape reel) were digitised under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project. The formats of the digitised copies are JPEG and WAV files.

The tapes were temporarily deposited in the National Library of Scotland to enable digitisation under the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage (UOSH) project.
