Each transparency is labelled individually with the subject of the painting or drawing, and most have the date of completion and some details concerning the owners of the piece.

Some transparencies have numbered stickers, but are not arranged numerically. These numbers were likely applied to assist in the scanning of images for 'A life in pictures'.
