Arrangement

The arrangement is chronological, in separate subseries under Theatre, Television and Radio, with miscellaneous press cuttings, programmes and other items completing the collection. Shows which are represented only by a programme have not been individually listed, but the programmes remain with the collection and are catalogued in the Libary's Scottish Theatre Programmes database (see 'External Documents' link).

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Presented, 2010, by Edith Macarthur, Edinburgh.

Appraisal

The selection process was undertaken in Edith Macarthur's home in 2010. The only items which were not retained in Acc.13182 were the theatre programmes for shows which Miss Macarthur had seen but in which she had not performed. These were treated as donations to the Library and any not already in the Library's collection were retained. Duplicate items were returned to Miss Macarthur.
