Scope and Contents
Sir Robert Liston wrote this letter to his sister Henrietta from Rome while accompanying Thomas Johnes of Haford on his extended Grand Tour. In it he comments on Italian society in Rome and particularly the appearance of the women there. The letter includes an account of an audience with Pope Clement XIV.
