Typescripts of diaries, 1914-1918, of James Francis Hurley relating to Sir Ernest Shakleton`s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition on the `Endurance`. The diaries record the party`s experiences on South Georgia, trapped in the ice on the Weddell Sea, Antaractica, stranded on Elephant Island, their rescue and return to London.
