Scope and Contents The contents of the manuscript are as follows:(i) `Epitome Codicis Sconensis ... ex libro M.S. Magni Mackculloche` (folio 1). Material in Latin and English, taken from the `Scotichronicon` for 1057 to 1436, with a supplement (folio 34) for 1199-1263. This was the basis of the early part of Balfour`s ‘Annales of Scotland’. ‘The Scottish historical library’, pages 92-93, refers to this manuscript.(ii) Extracts from ‘Scotorum historiae’ by Hector Boece (folio 39)....

Register of the Chapel Royal of Stirling, written, circa 1537, by John Lambert, prebendary of the Chapel.

Scope and Contents The register contains copies of papal bulls and other documents concerning the Chapel, dated from 1501 to 1537. The text is all in Lambert`s hand, except for folios 41-42, and there are large calligraphic initials. Each folio is signed by James Primrose, clerk to the Privy Council; this was probably done in 1621 when the Register and other documents of the Chapel Royal were put into his keeping for transfer to the Bishop of Dunblane (see ‘Register of the Privy Council...
