The collection is known both as the `Denmilne State Papers` and the `Denmilne Collection`. Less formally it is often referred to as the `Denmilne Manuscripts`.

Dates: 1548-1641.

‘Letters and instructions of state between England and Scotland’, a volume of copies in a modern hand from original papers in the Cotton Library being chiefly letters of English Ambassadors in Scotland.
