Scope and Contents The contents are as follows.(i) Poem by a Scottish author, describing the roads, bridges, etc., built by Wade in the Highlands and referring to the manners and resources of the country, 1737. It is followed by notes on allusions and meanings of words, and preceded by a preface in which the author discusses the difficulty which a Scottish writer finds in composing English poetry.
