Certified copy of charter by James VI to David Wood, second son of Patrick Wood of Bonytoun of the custody of the lands of Montrewmouth and Muremylne [near Hilton of Guthrie]., 13 October 1588.
The earlier documents relate mainly to Guthrie of Petmowis and the lands of Stotfaulds and others in Monikie, the later to Guthrie of Guthrie and the lands of Hilton and Langlands of Guthrie, which were acquired by Lindsay of Balgays in 1603. There are also documents concerning the Collegiate Church of Guthrie (of which Guthrie of Guthrie was patron) and Innerpeffer (sold to Robert Fletcher in 1596).
Charter, 11 January 1470, under the great seal of James, King of Scotland, confirming charter, 6 March 1469, by Katharine of Monorgounde, of Balcasky, in her widowhood, with consent to Andrew Parcar, her eldest son, to her natural son, David Brois of the lands of the eighth part of Petdynnyn in the sheriffdom of Fife., 11 January 1470.
The charter and legal material contained here is of importance as giving the continuous history of a landed family in Fife from the 13th to the 18th century. The Halkett family appear to have risen partly on the decline of the Lochores of Lochore. By 1431, the former are having transumpts made of charters of the early 13th century granted to the latter (Ch.6018-6019).
Charter, 20 June 1510, under the great seal, by James IV, King of Scots, confirming charter, 17 June 1510, by Alexander Lamby of Drumkenny in favours of Robert, Lord Erskine, of the lands of Campisbaroun in shire of Stirling, exchanged for the lands of Newtoun in shire of Kincardine; and also confirming charter, 8 June 1510, by Janet Lichtoun, lady Quhitefield and Petdynnis, to the said Robert, Lord Erskine, and Isobel Campbell, his spouse, of the said Janet`s lands of Petdynnis., 20 June 1510.

Charter, before 1172, of William, King of Scotland, confirming a charter, before 1172, of the lands of Monorgan in Longforgan, granted by his brother David, Earl of Huntingdon in favour of Gilbert, nephew of Andrew, bishop of Caithness.
The document, which is undated, was granted before 2 April, 1172, being witnessed by Matthew, bishop-elect of Aberdeen, and seven others.
Charter by Alexander III [rectius II] King of Scots, confirming donation by Constantine de Loucher to Adam, his son, of the lands of Lumfilan, on the verso ‘Lophenans’, dated Forfar [9] April, 28th of the King [1242]., [9] April 1242.

There are also some documents relating to the lands of Butterdean and Wester Borthwick in Oldhamstocks which were held by the lairds of Aberlady.

William Forbes of Many, afterwards of Craigievar, and his son Sir William, succeeded in acquiring all rights to Saltoun, which was ultimately sold, after being held briefly by Sir William Gray of Pittendrum and various relations of Forbes, to Sir Andrew Fletcher of Innerpeffer.

The 8th Lord sold many of the estates and borrowed extensively on the security of Saltoun, which was the subject of endless dispute after his death in 1612.
