Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: Sir Alexander Burnes was a British political officer in India and an explorer. He travelled in India, Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. He was assassinated on a mission to Kabul in 1841.Burnes wrote 'Travels into Bokhara', which was published by John Murray in 1834 and sold 900 copies on the first day of publication.
