(iii) Some watercolour sketches made in India (folio 181 verso). The typed copy of the later journey was made in 1889 or 1890 for Elizabeth Burdon-Sanderson, whose signature dated May 1890 is at MS.20669, folio i. No doubt she was responsible for pasting in Jane's watercolour...

Alexander Pirrie writes of daily incidents occurring on his two expeditions from Khartoum. The first was up the Nile to the southern regions of Sudan and Bahr-el-Ghazal in November 1906.
