Some of the stories were published in 'A calendar of love and other stories' (Hogarth Press, 1967) and 'A time to keep and other stories' (Hogarth Press, 1969).

From folio 46 onwards (corresponding to Adv.MS.34.4.4, folio 13) the rubrics in the original are copied in red ink. Bound in at the front of the volume are a letter and a draft of a letter, 1789, of Thomas Gordon, Professor of Greek at King`s College, Aberdeen (folio 1), a letter and a receipt, 1796-1797, of the copyist (folio 31) and a letter, 1798, of Alexander Dickson (folio 32).

Scope and Contents Five of the letters are addressed to William Sharp's wife, and the remaining twenty, which appear to be drafts, to various other correspondents. Of these twenty, one, incomplete and lacking a signature, is clearly a letter by William Sharp. The remaining nineteen are all signed 'Fiona MacLeod'.
