The first 22 pieces (folios 1-37) appear to have been part of a series of at least 25 pieces.
The 'Royal Wedding Quadrille' (folio 38) is dated 1893. Folio 25 is written on the verso of a bill dating from 1910 or later.

The contents are as follows:
(i) Rhapsody: the first part in full score, the remainder in short score (folio 1);

(iv) Concert waltz (folio 36 verso);
(v) Sections apparently of three unidentified works for orchestra chiefly in full score (folios 41, 47, 54).

Apart from the film music, which is datable to 1947-1948 from the accompanying correspondence and papers (MSS.22085-22086), almost all the music is undated; but from the ink used, some of it may be dated to about the same period.
