They cover mainly the period from 1717, when James Graham, Judge Admiral, first acquired the lands, until the 1840s, when William Graham, his great-grandson, ceased to run the estate himself, but they also contain both earlier and later material. Many of the production files contained information which could be deemed sensitive under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. For the sake of record, one file (‘Caledonia Dreaming’) has been kept in its entirety, though anyone wishing to consult it will have to comply with the terms of the Act and complete relevant paperwork.
