Letters cover the War between Breat Britain and the United States of America, including information on crewing issues, floggings, desertions and impressements. There are specific details on the threat of American vessels and how to identify them by their rigging and rope.

HMS President patrolled British waters searching for American ships and was based in Cork and Greenock.

Dates: May 1814 - July 1815.
