Scope and Contents From the Series:

Hugh McCutcheon was educated in Paisley and at Glasgow University, and served as Town Clerk of Renfrew from 1945 to 1974. His literary work consisted mainly of mystery novels and thrillers. Both manuscripts are heavily corrected but the final text is very close to the published version. The typescripts, which have a few manuscript corrections, are marked up for the printer.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

George Scott-Moncrieff spent much of his childhood in England, but returned to Scotland in the 1930s. His writing covered a wide range of subjects, including architecture, Scottish topography, fiction, drama and religious works, and the last two of these are well represented in his papers.

Scope and Contents From the Fonds:

Joe Corrie worked as a miner in Fife and Ayrshire, and many of his plays and stories are set in mining communities. He was a prolific writer who published a number of plays, several collections of poetry, and two novels, as well as numerous stories and articles in newspapers. Many of his plays were popular with amateur dramatic groups.
