Carbon copy of a typescript of the first draft of 'Dylan Thomas: a personal account' by Ruthven Todd., 1963-1964.
Ruthven Todd was originally commissioned to write the official biography of Dylan Thomas, but failed to do so. These manuscripts are his reminiscences of the poet, which were not published except for chapter 12 which appeared in the ‘Mediterranean Review’, volume i, number 3 (1971), pages 15-23.

Carbon typescript of Robert Garioch Sutherland of an anthology of poems, probably intended for publication., [Circa 1970.]
Robert Sutherland (1909-1981) who wrote under the name 'Robert Garioch', was educated in Edinburgh and, after the war of 1939-1945 when he was a prisoner in Italy and Germany, became a schoolteacher in Kent. He returned to Edinburgh in 1959, where he taught and worked for the School of Scottish Studies in the University.

There are a few manuscript corrections, and two newspaper cuttings (folio 83) concerning the first production of the play in Edinburgh.
Carbon typescript of 'The Mystery of Gorbals Terrace', a four act play by Alexander McArthur (1901-1947).
The play was originally written in 1944-1945. This typescript contains manuscript corrections by the author, Alexander McArthur and a number of notes stating that a copy sent to Unity Theatre, Glasgow, was not returned, and implying that it was used by Robert McLeish as a source for his 'Gorbals Story'.

The play was first performed in 1937, and a revised version published in 1971. MSS.26335-26336 are annotated acting copies: MS.26335 appears to have been used in several productions (for another similar typescript, see MS.26465). MS.26336 includes the later revisions in manuscript, and MS.26337 is a carbon typescript of the revised version.
