Biography
Andrew Lothian, born at Cowdenbeath, began his career as a seaman and was ordained as a Burgher Secession minister at Port Glasgow in 1793. He became minister of the Burgher congregation at Portsburgh, off the Grassmarket of Edinburgh in 1796, and supported the formation of the United Secession in 1820. He spent the rest of his life in his Edinburgh charge.
