Biography

Alasdair Mac Aonghais was probably born in 1919 and was a teacher of geography in Perth. He served in the 2nd World War and was wounded in Northern Italy. Recovering in Southport he met his wife Maureen. He returned to Glen Coe after his retirement and taught evening and weekend classes in Gaelic. He wrote a book of poetry and tales, 'Tron Bhogha-Froise: sgeulachdan is bàrdachd' (1999). Date of death from obituary online; some detail of his life through personal correspondence with the donor, who attended his Gaelic classes.
