Douglas Allen served as Chair of the Scottish Labour History Society (SLHS), an independent organisation comprising of academics, practitioners, labour and social activists and others interested in the development and history of Scotland’s working-class, trade union, labour and co-operative movements. Scope and Contents

Collection contains Allen's personal papers and ephemera concerning his research interest in national and international labour history, culture in the labour movement, and labour-related archival resources. This collection complements the series of papers Allen also donated to the WGML concerning more directly his work as Chair of the Scottish Labour History Society.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Fonds: The WGMLA Special Collections comprise over 60 collections relating to notable individuals, organisations, and themes in the Scottish labour, trade union, and suffrage movements.
