Portfolio of loose artworks by Lucinda Mackay [Everyday studies], Circa 1997

 File
Identifier: MS.50765

Scope and Contents

This portfolio contains 73 loose drawings by the artist. Mediums used include ink, crayon, and watercolour. Pages appear to have been pulled from a spiral-bound sketchbook. The majority of drawings are untitled. Images depict everyday city scenes, alongside more detailed studies of individuals and animals. A series of images show artists at work in studios and in nature. A watercolour sketch also shows an orchestra during a musical performance. Edinburgh is noted as the location for one image, whilst an unnamed French town may be represented in a number of other sketches, given the presence of illustrated French language street signs. The original marbled hardback portfolio cover is also included.
