Outward Bound annotated photograph albums., 1983-1996.
Scope and Contents
This series contains 18 annotated photograph albums, created by Hinde to record his teaching and training activities at Outward Bound Loch Eil. Consisting primarily of photographs, the volumes document staff training, course activities including mountaineering, sailing, hiking, camping, group work, and first aid and rescue training. They also contain photographs of an assortment of Scottish landscapes and items of topographical interest. A small number of later volumes include family photographs of the Hinde family on holidays abroad or enjoying outdoor activities in Scotland.
Certain volumes also contain enclosures in the form of letters, notes and reports by Hinde, and brief ephemera. These 'albums' were originally housed in ringbinders but have been rehoused for preservation purposes. Many of the original folders bore the address of the Outward Bound Centre at Fort William, PH33 7NN or Hinde's own home address in Findochty.
