This sub-series comprises an incomplete run of printed catalogues recording all books published by John Murray publishers annually. Catalogues were commonly titled as "Complete Catalogue of Works Published" or "Complete Catalogue of Works in Print". A number of catalogues are accompanied by a proof copy with annotations and corrections, and additional inserts.

Catalogues up to 1948 note the inclusion of titles from the Smith, Elder, and Co. publishing list; catalogues from 1951-1963 note the inclusion of titles from the Gryphon Books and Royle Publications imprints; and catalogues from 1961-1967 note only the inclusion of additional titles from Gryphon Books. Thereafter no mention of any supplementary imprints is made. Annual catalogues were commonly printed in January/February of each year, but exceptions exist in later editions.
