    There is a chronological index and the author`s preface at the beginning of the manuscript, with the addition of a copy

    of a letter in Latin from Innes to David Wilkins (folio 258), dated 23 November, 1735, Paris, discussing the ancient manner of holding synods in Scotland, which was published in Wilkins`s ‘Concilia’, volume I, page xxvii. There are also copies of a letter of Innes, 1736, concerning the Sarum Liturgy used in Scotland and extracts of letters of Francis Atterbury, Bishop of Rochester, 1730-1732, discussing Innes`s Critical Essay; these are published in ‘The Miscellany of the Spalding Club’, volume II, pages 357, 364.
