Inside the front cover of the volume are the words "this book is a facsimile of the Climbers' Book at Wasdale Head Hotel", with the signature 'R.W. Lloyd, November 1953' (folio i). It includes pages of ‘All the year round’, 1884, and ‘Chamber's Journal’, 1887, containing articles on climbs in the English Lake District, by C N Williamson, and on 'The Death-Roll of Snowdon' (folio 1); entries, 1866-1891, copied from the Wasdale Head book, describing the impressions of mountaineering visitors after climbing some of the peaks in the district (folio 8); blueprints and tracings of sketches of mountains; some pages of the original Wasdale Head Book, with a copy of a letter to O G Jones from 'J.G.' enclosing them, 1898 (folio 34); and other miscellaneous material concerning climbing in the Lake District (folio 54). The material on folios 34-76 was found loose in the volume and pasted in.
