Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows:
(i) Hours of the Holy Ghost (folio 1);
(ii) Prayers and devotional exercises (folio 33);
(iii) Suffrages of the saints (folio 55);
(iv) Hours of the Cross (folio 65 verso).
The volume would appear to be no more than a fragment, as there are leaves missing after folio 32, containing the conclusion of (i), and folios 1 and 62-65 are replacements in another hand for missing originals. (The leaves missing after folios 48, 49, and 64 do not affect the text.) No miniatures or illuminated initials, but almost every leaf contains a decorated gold initial and borders of foliage in green and gold. The spine is gold-stamped 'Catholisc[h] Gebet Buch'.

Vellum. Binding probably English, circa 1810, of blind-tooled diced russia with vellum doublures within tooled borders back and front.
