MSS.5357-5359 contain a number of portions of drafts, all later than September 1768, written chiefly in the hands of clerks, but considerably revised by Andrew Stuart and others. Details of these drafts, and a statement of the probable relationships between them and the final printed version, will be found in a note at the beginning of MS.5357. The drafts show a continuous process of revision and contraction, leading up to the final printed version. MS.5360 contains portions extracted during this process and apparently unprinted.
