Letters, 1813-1864, of David Brewster to John Murray II and John Murray III, with a few letters to Robert Cooke, with related letters and papers dating to 1868. They concern several of Brewster’s publications, including “The life of Sir Isaac Newton”, “Letters on natural magic”, his work on “The Edinburgh encyclopaedia”, and his proposals for journals of philosophy and science. The letters are arranged in chronological order.
