Scope and Contents
This manuscript includes letters, 1883-1903, of William Napier Bruce to John Murray III and John Murray IV. Many of the letters concern his publication “Life of General Sir Charles Napier”, and Austen Henry Layard’s autobiography, which he edited. Also included are two letters, 1833 and 1856, of Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Murray II and John Murray III. All the letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent and by date under each name. An additional correspondent has been added to the end of the sequence.
