Scope and Contents

The letters are to John Murray IV and Hallam Murray. They concern the publication of “The Creevey Papers: a selection from the correspondence and diaries of the late Thomas Creevey, M.P.” (1903), edited by Herbert Maxwell. Also mentioned is the manuscript of Maxwell’s “A century of empire, 1801-1900”. Accompanying several of the letters is a copy of the outline of the reply of John Murray IV.
