Letters, 1850-1858, of John Penrose to John Murray III, with one letter, 1888, of his grandson, J. Penrose, to John Murray III. They concern works of John Penrose published by Murray, including “Lives of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Vinicombe Penrose, and Capt. James Trevenen”, “Faith and practice”, and further work on “Mrs Markham’s” histories of England and France. The letters are arranged in chronological order.
