William Ewart Gladstone published many books, pamphlets and articles throughout his political career. Some of these were published by John Murray and the manuscripts and proofs here relate to some of those publications. The manuscripts relate to the works of Gladstone on the Church, foreign politics and domestic political issues. In addition, there is also a chapter of an autobiography and the manuscript of a review entitled 'Memoir of John Murray'. The manuscripts have been revised and annotated, with various alterations, insertions and corrections.
