Letters of David Livingstone to John Murray III, with a letter to Robert Cooke, written at the time of his expedition to the Zambesi, and during his return to Britain from Africa between 1864 and 1865., 1858-1874.
Scope and Contents
Most of the letters concern the preparation for publication of Livingstone`s “Narrative of an Expedition to the Zambesi and its Tributaries”.
Also included :
(1) a letter of Reginald Poole to ?John Murray III concerning a quotation in Livingstone`s “Narrative of an Expedition to the Zambesi and
its Tributaries”;
(2) letters of Robert Cooke to John Murray III concerning the return of Henry Stanley to Europe after he had "found" Livingstone at Ujiji;
and,
(3) a letter to Robert Cooke reporting the death of Livingstone.
