Notes, circa 1927- circa 1935, mostly in manuscript but with some in typescript, of William Ronald Dodds Fairbairn concerning pioneering thinkers on the human condition. Folios 85-137.

The notes would appear to have been prepared for lectures or tutorials given by Fairbairn at the Psychology Department, University of Edinburgh.

The subjects of the tutorials are:

George Berkeley, folios 85-94;

Sir Francis Galton, folios 95-112;

Thomas Hobbes, folios 113-121; and,

William James: folios 122-137.
