This was published as pages 1-90 of Riddell`s ‘Tracts, legal and historical, with other antiquarian matter chiefly relative to Scotland` (Edinburgh, 1835), in rebuttal of the theory put forward by Patrick Fraser Tytler in volume III of his ‘History of Scotland’ (Edinburgh, 1829), that Richard II had escaped from Pomfret Castle and fled to Scotland where he died in 1419.
