Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows.

(i) Calendar, with entries for the Translation of St Bridget, 28 May, her Deposition, 23 July, and Canonization, 7 October. (Folio 1.)

(ii) Rules for finding the date of Easter; in Italian as well as Latin. The date of the volume is given by the following: 'Nel presente anno del mille cinquecento trentacinque corrte laureo numero, xvi'. (Folio 7.)

(iii) Psalter (folio 9); the seven canticles from Lauds for the week, Magnificat, Nunc Dimittis, and Te Deum (folio 185 verso); 'Ad Laudes' (folio 203); 'Simbolum Athanasii episcopi' (folio 209 verso); Litany (folio 212 verso).

(iv) 'Incipit offitium beate Virginis Marie per totius anni circulum secundum morem regule et ordinis sancti Salvatoris ordinatum et distinctum per ferias pro ut fuit revelatum per angelum ex precepto Christi beate Brigide per sorores eiusdem ordinis esse decantandum.' Hours of the Trinity, 'Dominica' (folio 220); Hours of the Angels, 'Feria secunda' (folio 239 verso); Hours of the Messiah, 'Feria tertia' (folio 254 verso); Hours of the Nativity of the Virgin, 'Feria quarta' (folio 271); Hours of the Annunciation, 'Feria quinta' (folio 286 verso); Hours of the Passion, 'Feria sexta' (folio 306); Hours of the Assumption, 'In die sabbati' (folio 327).

(v) 'Incipit ordo cantus et lectura sororum ordinis sancti Salvatoris' (incomplete) (folio 355), with additions in a modern hand (folio iii).

In double columns. Roughly illuminated capitals, some with miniatures; and simple marginal flourishes.
