The contents are as follows.

(i) 'A short narrative of the occasion, rise, progress, & administration of the . . . Fund . . . for Relief of the Indigent Episcopal Clergy in Scotland and their Widows', with a copy of Bishop David Freebairn's commission to the collectors, dated 1739 (folio 1);

(ii) List of the Episcopal clergy possessed of cures in Scotland at the Revolution (folio 7);

(iii) Narratives of the Jacobite rising of 1745 (copies), preceded by relevant modern correspondence (folio 30): Edward Burke's journal, a variant of that printed in ‘The Lyon in Mourning’, volume i, page 189 (folio 36); letter of Norman Macleod of Macleod to the inhabitants of Kingsburgh, 1746 (folio 43 verso); Reverend John Cameron's narrative, printed in ‘The Lyon in Mourning’, volume i, page 83 (folio 44); account of Culloden and Prince Charles Edward's wanderings (folio 57); Colonel O'Neil's narrative, printed in ‘The Lyon in Mourning’, volume i, page 102, with an additional postscript (folio 63);

(iv) Copy of letter attributed to Prince Charles Edward, 1745, printed in ‘The Lyon in Mourning’, volume i, page 211 (folio 70).
