The transcripts were made by John Dillon, Secretary of the Maitland Club, probably in 1812 (see folio 63 and watermark), the charter of Robert Mersar of Innerpeffray beginning on folio 61. They are followed by a short calendar (folio 65) and index, also by Dillon, on paper watermarked 1823.

The Register was edited by Cosmo Innes for the Bannatyne Club in 1847. There is no indication of any connection between the Bannatyne edition and this transcript.

The contents of the Register have since been printed from the original charters by William A Lindsay, John Dowden, and John Maitland Thomson, in ‘Charters, bulls, and other documents relating to the Abbey of Inchaffray’, ‘Scottish History Society. Publications’, volume lvi (Edinburgh, 1908).
