Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows:

(i) Report, 1813, by George Brown on damage caused to the lands of Easter and Wester Bonar by the construction of the Bonar bridge and road;

(ii) Papers relating to the sale or lease of estates of Letterfourie, Corriedown, and Walkerdales, Banffshire, 1781;

(iii) Plan, 1795, of ground in Muirtown, Elgin, leased to the New Thread Company;

(iv) Particulars of sale, and abstract of the contents and rental of the lands of Finhaven, belonging to the sequestrated estate of the Marquis of Huntly, with a letter to Peter Brown of Linkwood, 1840;

(v) Plan, 1840, of the estate of Finhaven, lying in the Parish of Oathlaw, and the County of Forfar;

(vi) Rental of the estate of Glengarry for crop and year 1838;

(vii) Report and estimated value, 1840, to a purchase of the Estates of Glengarry and Inverlochy Castle in Invernesshire;

(xiv) Report, 1844, by Peter Brown on the 'present condition, system of management, and valuation of sundry farms on the estates of Haulkerton and Inglismaldie, the property of the Right Honourable, the Earl of Kintore', with suggestions for improvement;

(xv) Duplicate of 'Contract of lease between the Right Honourable the Earl of Seafield and James Grant of Blackhall of Rothes', of which Peter Brown was Factor, 1863-1864;

(xvi) Duplicate of 'Contract of lease between the Right Honourable Earl of Seafield and Alexander Bremner and Charles Bremner of Braehead of Elchies' of which Peter Brown was Factor, 1864;

(xvii) 'Articles, regulations, and conditions, under which are to be let, the farms, crofts, and possessions of the Estates in the Counties of Inverness, Moray, and Banff, belonging to the Right Honourable John Charles, Earl of Seafield', 1856.
