The papers include: a copy of a declaration, 1693, of James II to his Jacobite subjects, after his flight (folio 3); political verse, early 17th and 18th centuries (folio 5); copies of two speeches in the Scottish Parliament, 1702, one anonymous, concerning Presbyterian government (folio 18), and one by the Duke of Hamilton, signifying his retirement from Parliament (folio 19); a list, 1715, of clan chiefs, showing their political allegiances (folio 20); a copy of a letter, 1715, written by Viscount Kenmure the day before his execution (folio 22); two Treasury warrants, 1740, 1755 (folio 24); material, undated, for a bibliography of Jacobite pamphlets (folio 34); and extracts, undated, from newspapers and books, including portraits, mostly relating to executed Jacobites and to the children of George II (folio 125).
