Volume originally owned by Edward Ellice of Invergarry (died 1863) and apparently originally used as an account book and subsequently to contain sketches, then turned over and used by Edward Charles Ellice of Invergarry to contain notes and memoranda relating to the estate of Glengarry for the years 1814 to 1912., ?1818-1912.

The volume contains sheets watermarked 1818.
Several leaves have been torn out at both ends of the volume and many leaves are blank except for the year recorded upon them.
The beginnings of an index to the original account book, the rest of which has evidently been torn out, appear, inverted, on folio 1 (i.e. what was originally the back of the volume).
