Included are papers concerning politics (acts and proceedings of the Parliaments of Scotland and Great Britain, the Union of 1707, Oxford's advice to Queen Anne, Jacobites, the education of the Prince of Wales, Pitt's ministries, loyal addresses to George III, John Wilkes, etc.), economics (Scottish trade, the Bank of Scotland, paper credit, the Equivalent, etc.), foreign affairs (the alliance with France, 1611, and war with France in the mid-eighteenth century), and military affairs (passes by General Monck, instructions to the Earl of Argyll in 1689, the Black Watch mutiny of 1743, and various actions in the Seven Years' War).
