The narrative breaks off in mid-sentence (folio 45) part-way through a summary of the visit to Italy in 1868 (cf. MS.20014). At the back (folio 1 inverted) is an account possibly derived from a printed source, of Port Royal and Angelique Arnauld.
A bifolium originally found loosely enclosed is now MS.20016, folio 399.
