(i) ‘Act [i.e., Bill] for erecting the Advocats into a Society. 27 Jany. 1701’ (folio 1);

(iv) Printed petition to the Court of Session by the Dean and Faculty of Advocates and others regarding valuation of the burgh of Edinburgh by the stent masters, 1707 (folio 14);

(v) Draft of formal receipt by John Spottiswoode of the books in the Advocates' Library from the friends and relations of his predecessor, James Stevenson, as Keeper, and obligation under penalty to make the same forthcoming to the Dean and Faculty, 1702 (folio 16);

(vi) Overtures proposed to the Faculty anent [a catalogue of] their library, 2 December 1710. Printed (folio 17);

(vii) ‘Resolutions’ made by John Spottiswoode regarding his moral and intellectual welfare, 1698-1706, including ‘A computation of the charges a single Gentleman may be at yearly liveing in Edinr. Aug. 3, 1699’ (folio 23); ‘The Computation of my own charges for a year to come from Aug. 1. 1699’ (folio 26).
